Back to School Bags

Dee Runyon and her grandson Max plus more volunteers gathered together just a week or so ago to supply book bags and school supplies for kids going back to school. I’m sure there were several organizations in Pontiac (and other towns, too) that participated in this activity, but I am only aware that The Dollar Tree and VFW donated supplies and finances to the 1st Christian Church to provide approximate 115 filled book bags for kids in Pontiac.

Yes, volunteerism at its best! And, I’m sure that as you read this article, you can think of groups or organizations in the village/town where you live that are doing many things that benefit others. Yes, I’ve more than likely left out a whole bunch of things, but I wanted to get your attention somehow that it’s time for you – YES – YOU – to do something to help someone else. School will begin very soon, fall is around the corner, Thanksgiving is on the way, and Christmas will be here before you know it (I know, don’t remind you, right?). NOW is the time to begin not just thinking about how you can be the hands and feet of Christ, but actually DOING and BEING the hands and feet of Christ.
